On the evening of Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Southeast Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leading to a tragic loss of life. Responding to reports of gunshots at approximately 8:33 p.m., officers from the Seventh District arrived at the 3300 block of 14th Place, Southeast. There, they discovered 22-year-old Jayla Vaden, a resident of Southeast, D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was found unconscious and not breathing.
