In the late morning of October 23, 2025, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a South Baltimore neighborhood, leaving a family and community to grapple with a sudden loss. Eugene Henry, a 42-year-old Black male, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 4100 block of Hyden Court. The call to police was made at approximately 10:26 a.m., and upon their arrival, officers discovered the grave scene.
Paramedics quickly responded and transported Henry to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting moved swiftly, with law enforcement identifying a person of interest shortly after the incident. Their attention focused on 48-year-old Gerard Morris. In a testament to the efficiency of the responding officers, Morris was apprehended on the very same day as the fatal shooting. He was located and taken into custody in the 800 block of Glade Court, not far from where the tragic event had unfolded.
