In the early evening of October 26, 2025, the life of 26-year-old Yik Thomas Khan, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Kent, Washington. The incident unfolded around 6:13 p.m. when multiple calls to 911 reported the sound of gunfire at an apartment complex on the 6000 block of South 233rd Place.
Upon their arrival at the scene, Kent Police officers and medics discovered Khan lying unresponsive in the parking lot. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The King County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that Khan's death was a homicide caused by gunshot wounds to his head and neck.
