John Thomas, 15, a Black male, was standing on a West Side sidewalk late Friday afternoon when a car rolled up to the 1300-block of West Grenshaw Street in the University Village/Little Italy area and gunfire erupted. Struck in the chest and leg, he was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
