Jamahri Sims, 16, a Black male, was shot in the early afternoon on Monday, October 6, 2025, after Tifton police were called around 1 p.m. to the 1100 block of South Central Avenue. Officers found him wounded and rushed him to Tift Regional Medical Center, where he later died. A second victim from the same burst of gunfire was found at a home near East 13th Street and taken for treatment. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation took the lead at the request of the Tifton Police Department.
