Gerard Essner, a 62-year-old White male, was found dead on the afternoon of October 6, 2025, at a rural property near 8101 County Road 408 outside Bertrand in Mississippi County, Missouri. Deputies had been called for a missing-person report after he went silent while harvesting soybeans in a field neighboring a residence; when investigators arrived, they discovered his body and secured the area.
