Kh’mari C. Davis-Rickmon, 22, a Black male from Peoria, was shot in the head on Sunday, October 12, 2025, just before 1:30 p.m. on the 2300 block of West Antoinette Street. Police rushed to the scene after a ShotSpotter alert registered 15 rounds; officers found him on the ground, and witnesses reported he had been riding a bicycle when gunfire erupted. He was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. The shooting location and volley of shots drew detectives to a nearby home on the block, where a search later turned up multiple firearms, including one reported stolen.
Two days later, on Tuesday, October 14, at 4:12 p.m., the Peoria County Coroner pronounced Davis-Rickmon dead; an autopsy found he died from a gunshot wound to the head. His killing marked another grim entry in a year already marred by violence in the city.
Investigators quickly focused on three teenagers seen running into a nearby residence moments after the shots. Orlando J. Hanson Jr., 16, Jamion L. Irby, 17, and Davieon D. Webster, 16, were arrested shortly afterward. Prosecutors first filed weapons charges, then elevated the counts to first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a handgun after Davis-Rickmon’s death; because of the offense and their ages, the trio are being prosecuted as adults. In a detention hearing on October 17, a judge ordered all three held in custody until trial. Evidence outlined by authorities includes three recovered guns and shell casings that matched those weapons, with fifteen casings collected from the front porch of the residence. The investigation remains active, and police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
