Seven people are killed during a massacre at a New Mexico bowling alley On February 10, 1990, Ida Holguin, 33, was one of the victims of the infamous Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre. This tragic event unfolded when two armed men entered the Las Cruces Bowl on East Amador Avenue early in the morning. The assailants forced seven people into the office area of the bowling alley, where they shot all the victims execution-style before fleeing the scene. The attack claimed the lives of four people, including three adults and a child.
Three others, including Holguin, were critically injured but managed to survive.
Despite extensive investigations and multiple leads over the years, the identities of the two gunmen remain unknown, and the case is still unsolved. Authorities have offered significant rewards for information leading to the capture of the suspects, but no arrests have been made. The massacre shocked the community and remains one of the most disturbing and mysterious unsolved cases in New Mexico's history. Holguin's survival, along with that of two other victims, provided crucial testimonies, but no breakthrough in the case has been achieved to this day.
