Damere Boddie, 31, a Black male, was shot on the afternoon of October 15, 2025, in the 500 block of Mohawk Avenue in Akron. Officers responded after reports of gunfire around 1:55–2:00 p.m. and found him wounded; he was rushed to a local hospital, where he died shortly thereafter. The Summit County Medical Examiner later identified him by name, confirming the date and place of the killing.
