In a tragic event that unfolded on the evening of October 17, 2025, a 26-year-old man named Ryan Taylor from Vancouver, Washington, was involved in a fatal shooting incident at a 7-Eleven in the Hazel Dell area. The events that transpired resulted in the deaths of both Taylor and a store employee, leaving the community in shock.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the convenience store located at 6212 N.E. Highway 99 at approximately 5:22 p.m.
following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered both Ryan Taylor and 37-year-old Pardeep Kumar inside the store with gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
Subsequent investigation by the Clark County Medical Examiner's Office revealed the incident to be a murder-suicide. It was determined that Ryan Taylor had shot Pardeep Kumar, an employee of the 7-Eleven, before turning the handgun on himself.
