On July 16, 1999, the body of Michelle Nina Sanchez was found along Interstate 40 at mile marker 230 in Torrance County, New Mexico. Michelle had been missing since July 14, 1999, when she was last seen by her family. Her death remains an unsolved homicide, and despite investigations, no suspects have been identified. The discovery of her body near a major highway suggests the possibility that her killer may have been passing through the area, complicating efforts to solve the case.
