In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Pinson, Alabama, a high school bonfire in a wooded area known as 'The Pit' turned into a scene of tragedy. Eighteen-year-old Kimber Mills, a senior and cheerleader at Cleveland High School, was fatally wounded. The vibrant teenager, who also ran track and had dreams of becoming a nurse after attending the University of Alabama, was caught in the crossfire of a dispute that erupted at the gathering.
