On August 2, 2021, 32-year-old African American woman Brittany Nishae Williams of Birmingham, Alabama, lost her life in a tragic vehicular collision on Highway 79 in Pinson. While attempting a left turn onto the highway from Pawnee Road in her Buick LaCrosse, her vehicle was struck on the driver's side by a southbound Dodge Challenger.
