On August 2, 2021, 32-year-old Brittany Nishae Williams of Birmingham, Alabama, was involved in a fatal multi-vehicle collision on Highway 79 in Pinson. While attempting to turn left onto the highway from Pawnee Road, her Buick LaCrosse was struck on the driver's side by a southbound Dodge Challenger. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
