In the quiet early morning hours in Flagstaff, Arizona, a disturbance call to police unfolded into a heart-wrenching family tragedy. On Sunday, October 19, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residence at 16 E. Terrace Avenue around 4:00 a.m. following a noise complaint. As they approached the home, the sound of a single gunshot pierced the predawn stillness, immediately escalating the situation from a routine call to a potential crisis.
Upon making contact at the door, officers were met
by Mea Brodie, a 46-year-old woman who confirmed a gun had been fired inside. She then attempted to prevent the officers from entering, prompting them to detain her and conduct a welfare check within the residence. Inside the living room, they made a grim discovery. Doris Brodie, an 87-year-old white female, was found deceased, the victim of an apparent single gunshot wound.
