Casandra Majano, a 23-year-old woman, was found fatally shot inside a far east Fort Worth apartment on the night of October 22, 2025, after officers were called to a domestic disturbance. She had a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 9 p.m., according to police.
Detectives say the shooting stemmed from an argument.
After leaving the apartment, the alleged shooter phoned authorities and admitted to the killing, which led officers to him a short time later. He was taken into custody in Irving that night.
Police identified the suspect as Nelson Garcia, 28, who, according to reporting attributed to Fort Worth police, told investigators he had shot Majano during the dispute. Garcia was arrested on suspicion of murder after contacting police; early reports placed the offense in the 3700 block of Vaucluse Drive, in the far east side of the city near the Tarrant–Dallas County line.

Investigators continued processing the apartment complex and interviewing witnesses while coordinating with agencies across city lines because of the suspect’s arrest in Irving.
