Christopher Scott Copeland, 54, a male, was found shot multiple times around 8:20 a.m. on July 8, 2025, in an alley behind an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Janet in Amarillo. First responders from Amarillo Medical Services and the Amarillo Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but he died at the scene. Police described the incident area as the alleyway behind the complex and immediately opened a homicide investigation.
