Mikal Covan “Mikey” White, 18, a Black/African American male, died on August 29, 2025, after Port Arthur police, fire, and EMS responded to a crash at Stonegate Manor Apartments in the 4100 block of Turtle Creek Drive. First responders found him inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound, and investigators began piecing together how and where he had been shot before the car collided with the gate of the complex.
