Deshoune Pope, 14, a male freshman at Mathis High School, died on September 6, 2025, after an accidental shooting in Mathis, Texas. According to police, the 14-year-old male Deshoune Pope was at a friend’s home on the 800 block of Olivo Street when he accessed a firearm and fatally shot himself in the eye.
