In the quiet town of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, a grim discovery was made on the evening of May 27, 2025, when deputies responded to a request for a welfare check. Inside a camper located in the 5000 block of Highway 418, law enforcement found the bodies of 46-year-old Tamara Bowling and 54-year-old Roy Lawyer, both of Fountain Inn.
The Laurens County Coroner's Office was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.
Following an autopsy, the coroner officially ruled the incident a murder-suicide. It was determined that Tamara Bowling was the victim of a homicide, while Roy Lawyer's death was a suicide. Authorities assured the public that this was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing danger to the community.
The investigation conducted by the Laurens County Sheriff's Office concluded that Roy Lawyer was the sole individual responsible for the death of Tamara Bowling.
