In the early morning hours of June 12, 2025, the life of 26-year-old Justin Pullom, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. The fatal incident unfolded in the parking lot of the Parkstone at Indian Land apartments, a residential complex located near Fort Mill, South Carolina. It was around 3:30 a.m. when multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire broke the pre-dawn stillness, prompting a response from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Pullom lying in the parking lot, having sustained a single gunshot wound.
Neighbors were startled from their sleep by the sound of gunshots, with one resident recounting hearing about five shots in quick succession. Another resident, heading out for work, made the grim discovery of Pullom's body illuminated by her car's headlights. The violence of the event was further evidenced by a truck in the parking lot that had also been struck by gunfire, though no other injuries were reported at the scene. The Lancaster County Coroner's Office later officially identified the victim as Justin Pullom.
Justin was remembered as a kindhearted individual who easily made friends wherever he went. He was employed at Silfab Solar and also worked part-time at a Zaxby's in Fort Mill. His life was filled with a love for playing video games with his twin brother, creating music, and rapping. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his three nieces. His sudden death left a significant void in the lives of his parents, sister, twin brother, and his high school sweetheart.
In the wake of the shooting, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Lancaster County Multijurisdictional Violent Crime Task Force launched an investigation into the homicide. As of mid-June 2025, authorities had not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in the case. The motive behind the shooting remained unknown. Law enforcement officials appealed to the public for any information, urging anyone who might have seen or heard anything unusual in the early hours of that Thursday morning to come forward. The investigation into Justin Pullom's death is ongoing.
