It was early evening on May 26, 2025, when Daniel “Weston” Sherrer, 31, a male deputy with the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, arrived at a home in the 100 block of County Road 26 near Marengo, Ohio, for a reported domestic situation. Within moments of stepping into the driveway, an exchange of gunfire left him mortally wounded. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
