Daniel Gormley, a White/Caucasian male, 53, left a birthday gathering in Deep Ellum on the night of September 29, 2025, and boarded a Dallas Area Rapid Transit train headed toward home. Near Market Center Station around 10 p.m., a verbal confrontation unfolded between Gormley and another passenger. According to reporting based on an arrest affidavit and witness accounts, the train operator saw Gormley tell the man to get off the train; moments later, shots were fired.
