In the late summer of 2025, the community of Denmark, South Carolina, was shaken by the tragic death of Stephanie Hicks, a 42-year-old woman. On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Hicks became a victim of gun violence in what law enforcement officials have described as a murder-suicide.
