Black/African American male Darrick Lamont Jones, 48, was shot on the afternoon of Sunday, September 7, 2025, on Smutherman Drive in the Riverdale community of Dillon, South Carolina. He was taken to McLeod Health Dillon in a private vehicle and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to the Dillon County Sheriff and the coroner.
