Keantra Mays, 23, a male who was Black / African American, was killed late on June 28, 2025, when gunfire erupted at a crowded birthday party on Springfield’s West Side. Police were called at about 10:46 p.m. to the 1000 block of West Rose Street, where they found multiple people wounded and Keantra Mays, 23, of Springfield, pronounced dead at the scene.
