Salvador Ruiz, age 20, a Hispanic/Latino male from Toledo, Ohio, was found shot just after midnight on July 5, 2025, in East Toledo. Officers responding around 12:17 a.m. located the 20-year-old inside a vehicle near the intersection of Platt and 1st streets, and he was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he died. A second person in the vehicle was not injured.
