Chrishonda Ciera Wynn, a Black woman, was 34 years old when gunfire tore through Over-the-Rhine on the night of August 6, 2025. Around 9:10–9:15 p.m., as she walked along Republic Street near Green, a shooter unleashed a barrage—at least 15 rounds, by police accounts—and one bullet struck her in the back. She was rushed to UC Medical Center, where she died, and officers at the scene emphasized she had been an innocent bystander caught in a spray of shots that should never have been fired. ...
