Death by Force

On September 10, 2025, John Michael Lee, a 48-year-old male from Canton, was found with gunshot wounds inside a tent at a small homeless encampment tucked behind a plumbing supply business on the 1300 block of Wernet Court SW. Fire crews were called first for a tent blaze sparked by a propane tank; when the flames were knocked down, police moved in and discovered the wounded man. He was rushed to Aultman Hospital, where he died the same day.
