Phillip E. Johnson, a 34-year-old man from Canton, OH, tragically died on May 23, 2015. He was fatally shot at his home on Freshley Avenue NE. The suspect, Troy Michael Schory, a 22-year-old man from Alliance, OH, was charged with murder in connection with Johnson's death. Schory was tracked down by sheriff's officers and Alliance police to a residence on Elmside Street in Alliance, where he barricaded himself before being taken into custody without incident.
