On the afternoon of September 6, 2025, Rebia Hobbs, 75, female, was found shot to death inside her home in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. Deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Davis Lane after reports of a suspicious person; inside the residence they discovered the bodies of Rebia Hobbs, 75, female, and her son Eric Hobbs, 51, both dead from gunshot wounds.
