On April 7, 2025, 35-year-old Hispanic woman Aurora Rosendo-Ortega was tragically killed in a domestic violence incident at her home on Bowman Drive in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. Her ex-partner, Avelino Jaimes-Acuna, forcibly entered the residence and fatally shot her.
