Death by Force

Alex Carter, 47, a Black male from Coram, was shot inside the home he shared with his girlfriend in the early morning hours of July 4, 2025. Police said a physical confrontation preceded the gunfire around 2:30 a.m. at a residence on Townehouse Drive. After the shot was fired, the shooter called 911. Carter was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.
