In the early morning hours of October 14, 2020, the quiet of a Coram, New York neighborhood was shattered by a discovery that would set in motion a lengthy investigation. Charles Jerome Barker, a 48-year-old Black male from Brentwood, was found lying on the ground in front of Fillmore Court. It was approximately 6:30 a.m. when officers from the 6th Precinct, responding to a 911 call, arrived at the scene.
