On the night of July 26, 2025, a summer block party on Chapman Avenue in Auburn, New York, spilled from celebration into chaos just before 9:40 p.m. Officers stationed near the Oak Creek Town Homes heard a burst of gunfire and rushed toward the crowd. They found a 43-year-old male down with multiple gunshot wounds and a man nearby holding a handgun who, when confronted, dropped the weapon and was taken into custody.
