In the summer of 2025, a gathering in Auburn, New York, turned tragic, ending the life of 43-year-old Ronell Agee. The incident unfolded on the evening of Saturday, July 26th, near the Oak Creek Town Homes on Chapman Avenue. Agee, a resident of Rochester, was attending a summer block party when a dispute escalated into fatal violence. He was shot multiple times and rushed to Auburn Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities quickly apprehended a suspect at the
scene. Davon Dixon, a 35-year-old man who had recently moved to Auburn from Brooklyn, was arrested in connection with the shooting. Witnesses reported that the conflict began after Agee made a comment to Dixon's girlfriend. In response, Dixon opened fire while reportedly yelling, 'Stop playing with me.'
Dixon was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. A Cayuga County Grand Jury later indicted him on these charges. Initially, Dixon pleaded not guilty. However, he later changed his plea, admitting his guilt in the fatal shooting of Ronell Agee. In October 2025, Davon Dixon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was expected to be sentenced in January of the following year, facing a potential sentence of 20 years to life in prison.
