Zavion N. Horn, 34, a Black/African American man from Kansas City, Missouri, died on Saturday, May 24, 2025, after gunfire erupted along the 5500 block of Troost Avenue. Officers were dispatched just after 9:30 p.m. to reports of shots fired in a parking lot outside a business. When police arrived, they found an adult man and an adult woman suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds; a third victim, later identified as Zavion N.
