Lavontae Bennett, 19, a Black male from Springfield, Missouri, was shot in the predawn hours of June 22, 2025, and died at the scene on West Webster Street. Police were dispatched at 4:14 a.m. to 2034 W. Webster St., where officers found him with a gunshot wound and notified his family after confirming his death.
