In the early hours of a summer morning in Springfield, Missouri, the life of 19-year-old Lavontae Bennett was tragically cut short. On June 22, 2025, at approximately 4:14 a.m., Springfield police officers were dispatched to a residence on West Webster Street following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Bennett suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
