In the summer of 2025, a dispute that turned violent tragically cut short the life of Cortney Lamon Jackson, a 33-year-old Black/African American male from Clinton, Mississippi. On the morning of June 30, 2025, between 9 and 10 a.m., police were called to an apartment complex located on Northside Drive. Upon arrival, they found a scene marked by multiple shell casings, the remnants of a heated altercation that had escalated to gunfire.
