Fifteen-year-old Kenneth Smith Jr., a male from New Orleans, was shot in the early morning hours of June 15, 2025, in the city's Lower Ninth Ward and later died at a hospital. According to the Orleans Parish Coroner, he was attacked near the intersection of St. Maurice Avenue and North Prieur Street, an area where neighbors reported hearing a burst of gunfire overnight.
