On the morning of May 16, 2025, a dispute between two acquaintances in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 51-year-old Timothy Furr, a Black male from Baltimore. The deadly encounter unfolded on the 6400 block of Greig Street shortly after 9:30 a.m. Following an argument, Timothy Furr was shot and killed.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Ray Eugene Williams of Seat Pleasant, was seen fleeing the scene and entering his nearby apartment
building. This action prompted a significant police response, including the Prince George's County Police Department's Emergency Services Team, who established a barricade. The standoff lasted for several hours, into the afternoon.
Ultimately, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Ray Eugene Williams was taken into custody without further incident. He was subsequently charged with first and second-degree murder in connection with the shooting of Timothy Furr. The preliminary investigation confirmed that the two men knew each other and that the shooting stemmed from a dispute. Williams was reported to be the sole suspect in the killing.
