Annette Jackson, a 65-year-old woman, was tragically killed on the evening of Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her home in Tickfaw, Louisiana. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the 14000 block of Pine Road. Jackson had just returned from the grocery store and was at her front door when she sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the neck. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation into her death quickly focused on her 19-year-old grandson, Jaiden Dillon, who resided with her. Authorities determined that Dillon had shot his grandmother through the closed and locked front door. Following the shooting, Dillon fled the scene without attempting to provide any medical assistance or alert the authorities. He later turned himself in to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office on Sunday, June 22nd, after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Dillon has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, failure to report a felony, and obstruction of justice. In his statement to detectives, Dillon claimed he heard someone trying to enter the home and fired a shot through the door, only realizing afterward that it was his grandmother. Two other individuals were also arrested in connection with the case. Dillon’s 25-year-old sister, Nijah Dillon, and her 30-year-old boyfriend, Benjamin White, are accused of assisting Jaiden Dillon in his attempt to evade arrest. Both have been charged with one count of accessory after the fact as the investigation continues.
