Black/African American woman Trena Peters, 53, was shot in the Walnut Park West neighborhood of north St. Louis on September 30, 2025. Police said the shooting happened shortly after 4 p.m. in the 6000 block of Shulte Avenue; officers found Trena Peters, 53, outside with gunshot wounds, and she was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Authorities publicly identified the victim as Trena Peters, 53, of St. Louis City in an update released the following week.
