Laurie Gay Hesselink, a 21-year-old woman, was found murdered on March 9, 1979, in her Las Vegas apartment. She was strangled to death with a ligature sometime between 8 p.m. and the early hours of the morning. A friend discovered her body after noticing her door was left open. Her case remains unsolved to this day, adding to the list of cold cases in Las Vegas from that era.
