Jones Blvd. Two men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, were identified as the perpetrators of what appears to have been a botched robbery.
During the commission of the crime, Luna-Delgado was forced into the back of the
business, where she complied with the robbers' demands and opened the safe. It remains unclear whether the assailants managed to steal any money. Despite her cooperation, she was tragically shot. As of October 2019, jail and court records indicated that no arrests had been made in connection with her murder.
In the wake of her death, Celia Luna-Delgado's adult children filed a wrongful death lawsuit in October 2019. The lawsuit alleged that the security at her place of employment was inadequate to prevent the criminal activity that led to her death. The family's attorney stated that the business lacked security despite employees handling money. Luna-Delgado was survived by her daughter and two sons.
