Joaquin Trujillo, 35, a Hispanic/Latino male, was arguing from his car with a man in another vehicle in Chicago’s Humboldt Park just before dawn on May 24, 2025, when the confrontation spilled into the street. Around 2:45 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Spaulding Avenue, Joaquin Trujillo, 35, stepped out of his car and the other man, still seated, opened fire, striking him multiple times.
Witnesses later told police the shooter appeared to be in an older-model gray Infiniti sedan before fleeing into the dark.
Joaquin Trujillo, 35, was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, his identity confirmed by the Cook County medical examiner.
