Akash Banerjee, 22, male, Indian-origin, was shot on the evening of Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the ninth-floor hallway of The Connector, an off-campus apartment building at 699 Spring Street in Midtown Atlanta. Police described the attack as targeted. Surveillance video released by Atlanta Police showed a man walking the corridor minutes before the gunfire, and investigators later said the visitor had previously come to the building asking for Banerjee by name.
