Ronald Jones, a 66-year-old male, died on July 1, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. Late that night along the 1–100 block of West 79th Street near South Lafayette, a dark-colored sedan pulled up as Ronald Jones stood outside, and someone inside opened fire. He was struck in the chest and neck and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The location was outside a JJ Fish & Chicken in the Chatham/Greater Grand Crossing area on Chicago’s South Side.
