Emily Grace Mayo, 9, female, White/Caucasian, was found dead alongside her father, 37-year-old James Lee Mayo, on May 27, 2025, at Brooklet City Park in Brooklet, Georgia. Responding to a 7:45 p.m. call about an unresponsive child locked in a vehicle, officers entered a pickup truck and discovered Emily in the back seat with a gunshot wound and her father in the front seat with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound; a handgun was recovered on his lap.
