In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Albany, Georgia, a burst of violence at a gas station on North Slappey Boulevard shattered the quiet of the city. When the chaos subsided, 41-year-old Nikita McGriff, a male resident of Albany, had been fatally wounded. The shooting, which occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on June 7, 2025, marked another tragic entry into the city's growing list of homicides.
