In the summer of 2025, the community of Dublin, Georgia, was unsettled by the discovery of a local woman's untimely death. On the morning of Sunday, June 15th, police were called to the Claxton Homes Apartment Complex on Claxton Dairy Road. Inside apartment 26A, they found the body of 49-year-old Pam Rozier. She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 9:20 a.m.
The circumstances surrounding her death were immediately considered suspicious by the authorities who arrived.
The Dublin Police Department quickly confirmed they were treating the case as a homicide investigation. Due to the nature of the situation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist with processing the scene and gathering evidence. An autopsy was ordered to be performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta to determine the official cause of death.
The investigation progressed swiftly, and within a couple of days, a suspect was taken into custody. On the evening of Tuesday, June 17th, 50-year-old Edward Johnson of Dublin was arrested and subsequently charged with the murder of Pam Rozier. The arrest brought a sense of cautious relief to a community that had been on edge, as Rozier's death was one of two homicides that occurred in Dublin that same weekend.
Pamela Deloris Rozier, born on July 10, 1976, was a mother of nine children and a grandmother of three. She was remembered as a fun and outgoing person with a great sense of humor, known for her kindness and willingness to help others in her community. Funeral services were held the following week at the Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with her burial taking place at the Valdosta Baptist Church Cemetery in East Dublin.
