Lilia Garibay-Quijas, a 64-year-old woman of Hispanic/Latino descent, was found shot to death on June 22, 2025, in San Leandro, California. Police discovered her on the 700 block of Wrin Avenue, where investigators also recovered a copy of a restraining order that she had recently sought for protection. The scene pointed to intimate-partner violence that culminated inside the couple’s home that Saturday, ending a life that neighbors and family would soon memorialize across the East Bay.
